Engaged Encounter: Van + Hai’s Love Shoot in Disneyland

What a feeling! Disneyland + Love in photographs by Adrienne Gunde, a stylish photographer out of Los Angeles & Orange County!

I think these photos assure us that Disney is “the happiest place on Earth!” The rides, the colors, the loveliness, not to mention the couple!! It makes me want to be there.

I love Hai’s sweet smile and the way Van turns to look at her so lovingly! Ahhh + the feeling of true romance! They really are the cutest couple!

Fact: I take the phrase “The Happiest Place on Earth” not as a slogan, but as the cold hard truth (second only to “wherever Scott may be”, but that would make an awkward amusement park theme). And I could argue the Disneyland skeptics til the end of time – that singing animatronic pirates and pastel-colored rides and bundles of balloons and yummy turkey legs (and snow at Christmastime, snow!) outweigh the crowded, expensive side of things. So I was more than a bit excited for Van & Hai’s engagement session at Disneyland! We traveled from land to land and I got to photograph an amazingly happy couple in a fantastically happy place.

I would say that the positive vibes of Disneyland are infectious and therefore brought joy into the photos, but the truth is that it was the other way around – Van and Hai are some of the sweetest, warmest people I have ever met and they bring the happy with them wherever they go I feel truly blessed to have met them and loved photographing them in a place that holds some of their favorite memories!

I saw Eric + Hollin’s enchanted wedding pictures featured in the spring addition of Seattle Metropolitan Bride + Groom and couldn’t help but share it. I love all of the tender, earthy details, the feeling of the woods, not to mention the genuine spirit behind this sweet occasion.

I stumbled onto their website this morning, and I just had to share it with you all after I came across these adorable wedding invitations, save the dates, menu cards, thank you’s, and more. Check out this set— you can download it off the site for FREE by clicking here.

How adorable is the bicycle built for two?!

The concept behind this small company is that they love to design, but hate printing and shipping. So here’s how it works:

Each of their designs is formatted to fit uniform stationary or card stock, which can be purchased at any crafts store. You pay a fraction of the cost of normal invitations (or in the case above, NO COST) to download the design from their website. Each download comes with a how-to manual, so you will easily be able to plug in all of the specific and unique information regarding your wedding. Then, you just put the card stock into your printer, and print professional looking invites/save the dates/etc… from home!

Basically, thanks to e.m. papers, all of the paper goods in your wedding can be cohesive and beautifully designed at little cost to you. Genius!

This photo shoot from Design*Sponge this morning is so much fun, including the darling DIY paper egg mobile! I love that they added elements from Goodwill (like the $3 tablecloth linen) and DIY projects that are easy + fun. They can make a big impact on the overall look if done and displayed right!

The inspiration for this pancake breakfast brunch started with retro-feel wedding shots from of Holly and Billy which can be found at 100 Layer Cake. Photo credits go to the amazing Max Wanger.

Love: It’s the Big Idea!

I love it when I saw it! You know how you can be surfing blogs and all of a sudden stumble on something really good (and you hope you can remember how you got there!)

Well, I do. I found Grey Likes Weddings, a fun wedding blog, and suddenly it was a hit for me when I saw this feature of MaeMae Paperie!

Love can be like turning a light on inside of you. You’re ahh-haa moment, love at first sight, love brings you the light. Well, something like that. This great invitation designer MaeMae Paperie caught my eye with her pretty little lightbulbs that she fashioned into an event with the line “Love: It’s the Big Idea!”

She has beautiful elements to her style: MaeMae Paperie. You can get some really great ideas about how you could incorporate something so simple as a light bulb and put it into a wedding or party motif. It doesn’t have to be light bulbs (but they are really, really cute here), but think of something small, yet significant and wrap it into your wedding theme. Here are some Big Ideas….

Hello lucky reader! I am about to read your fortune….

1- You are going to fall in love (with jewelry).

2- You will go online and buy it.

3- You (and your lucky charm) will live happily ever after.

Well, maybe it’s not going to happen exactly like that. But, I still have to plug this one: Daily Candy Weddings featured this elegant and daring jeweler Madame Fortuna (Designer Allison Nowlin Ward) who creates custom charm wonders for your attendants.

As Daily Candy tells it:

To get started, submit the name, birthday, favorite memory, and personal style of each girl. Ward will scour flea markets, estate sales, and thrift and junk stores to find unique, vintage adornments, which usually include a locket and a small watch face set to the time of your wedding. You communicate with Ward via e-mail until the bracelets are perfect.

This is what Kristen had to say about the photo shoot:

Jill and Trevor… What a darling couple. From his charming smile to her captivating eyes, they make one good looking pair! We met at Golden Gardens Park out in Ballard close to sunset and walked around as we chatted about how they met and TV shows we’re all caught up on. I asked Jill if she would be up for sharing in her words how she and Trevor met and I loved how she put that writing about love is like dancing about architecture. You just can’t explain with the human language!

In Jill’s words about their meeting:
“Trevor and I met nearly five years ago teaching swim lessons. Unlike most fairy tale romances, Trevor and I were friends for a long time before we realized our love for each other. The more time we spent together the more we realized how meant-to-be we are. We are different in so many ways, but our fundamental beliefs are completely in line with one another. Each day is a new, exciting adventure filled with endless love and laughter. Our engagement has been the best time of our lives and, although we didn’t start out like a fairytale, we can’t wait for the next chapter and our fairytale ending. “
