Just when you think you can grab the regular grocery store olive oil and life goes on fine, you get introduced to chefshop.com.

This well-groomed cyber boutique cooking shop is home to some of the world’s best kept culinary treasures. You can create entire gastronomic feasts in one simple online shopping trip, choosing from the ample selections of pastas, sauces, honey and jams, mustards, oils, vinegars, olives and barbecue essentials.

Or, if you are in the Seattle area, you can pop into their actual ChefShop store for free tastings in every corner while you do a little on the whim-buying of hard-to-find, specialty and imported goods. When was the last time you had walnut cream pesto from Italy, pistachio torrone, or wild hibiscus flowers in syrup? Not since ChefShop, I bet! For the Holidays, they have special gift baskets and you have not lived until you have sampled their Panettone, fruitcake, dessert syrups, gourmet chocolates and the pink champagne biscuits from France.

Shopping in cyberspace has never tasted so good at ChefShop.com!

You can buy bonito flakes and tamarand concentrate. I have been looking for those. That’s what happens when you live in a small town with only chain stores. You can’t get these things. Thank goodness for companies like this.

I’d like to try the Chestnut Honey Organic Vinegar from Italy. The chestnut flavor would be so good on fowl of any kind, I think…… so there would at least be a change of taste when cooking the same ole rescipies of chicken, turkey, etc.

{08March10} I came across your post, “Wedding Cost Calculator,” and was shocked to see that an average wedding costs from $26,000 to $56,604 {in california.} My middle daughter is getting married in California {being in the Navy.} I can’t wait to hear how large or small she’s considering to have for her wedding plans.

{12/01/2009} I read the blog about the book “How to be a Mompreneur.” The fact that 50 moms successfully created their own business based upon a passion, and that these businessess are profitable is inspirational. I’m going to see if there is a copy of this at the local library, and if not, either buy a copy or ask the library to add the book to a future purchase of their own.

{12mar10} I read your, “Enjoy Cupcakes + Jose Villa Photo Inspiration.” Really great photos of the trailer, cupcakes beautifully displayed, and the “antique” items as well. The choice of flavors sounded like none other than I’ve had before. I am inspired now to try something new with my next batch of cupcakes.

{3/12/10} I just read your blog on Blending Beautiful, how to transition your makeup for winter to summer. I am very fair skinned. In fact, as a child, my father often teased me that he could loose me in a bed of white sheets. What a great idea, blending to colored moisterizers together to get a more appropriate glow on one’s face! I never would have thought of that, as you can tell by how surprised I am about doing this! Great blog!!

  30. What a great giveaway … thanks for hosting it!

{11 Mar 10} I just went through the Guest Blogger: Chewing the Cud, DIY kimono style napkin. I like how you have pictures showing each step needed to create this table decorative napkin. I practiced this presentation, but needless to say, my memory is not that great; and so I will have to refer to this blog more than one time.

{12 Mar 10} Wedding Gown Dreams. I wish I had seen this in time to tell my sister about the 70% discounts on just about anything bridal. My other sister, Kate got a beautiful wedding dress, tiara, and veil from one of PBS television auctions! The total cost for Kate was less than $100. She’s lucky too that no alterations had to be done. Guess this is why I was shocked by the quoted prices in another blog that weddings can cost up to $56,000.00. One can certainly be frugal and still have a memorable and beautiful wedding day.

{couldn’t find a date} Ticings: I so do like to see cakes/cupcakes when someone has taken time to decorate them. In this ticings’ site I learned that one can buy premade icing sheets. I’m going to check further into purchasing a sheet at the time I will be having a baby shower for a friend. I wonder if I can use cookie cutters….mmmm… will have to check the ticings’ site for decorative ideas.

{19Mar10} 100 Layer Cake: Guest Blogger: Heart of Light DIY Cake. You make several good suggestions when it comes to undertaking the task of creating well decorated wedding cake. Great Blog with well designed pictures!

{no date given} Life Work Images: I like this site because it has many areas to learn about the couple who run this site. As I was once a bride, I do believe all brides want documentation of the wedding day’s events. Sadly there are many who don’t live up to a quality standard, or provide all of the services promised. Prices and the quality of work vary so much that one has to be really careful not to be scammed.

  57. 63 Mary T.

{no date noted} Flora Nova Design: Seattle Floral and Event Design: This is the website for Flora Nova. The button “Galleries” takes you to some really nice pictures of what, I assume, are creations they made. Just click on a picture and you get a fairly detailed explination of what the picture shows. For a new bride, or other even planner, Flora Nova would be worth talking to.

If you already know how to do some basic decorating with frostings, this site you can still learn things from.

{23 Mar 10} Blending Beautiful: The Best Old Beauty Tricks. I have a few tricks my father taught me, yes, my father! To get all types of hair grooming stuff like hairspray our of your hair, add about one teaspoon of baking soda to the shampoo you have in the palm of your hand {just before shampooing, have hair already wet.} Mix the baking soda and shampoo just before using. Rinse as usual. One more hair tip: for auburn or brown hair, rinse your hair {after already having had water rinsed the shampoo out} with a 1 1/3 cup measure of water and 1/3 cup of cider vinegar. Wait at least 3 minutes, then water rinse your hair. Style as usual. Your hair will smell for a short time, but it is worth trying for yourself! Another tip: For dry elbows, use the ends of either a lemon or a cucumber…..clean out enough of the pulp to form a nice little niche for your elbow. Sit down and put your elbows in either the cucumber or lemon. Sit at the table like that for at least 5 mins.
